I am Vincent, a leather craftsman from Bordeaux and the Arcachon basin.
In 2018, I created the Barbe de Bois brand with a clear vision: to create responsible and sustainable leather goods.
My passion for vintage and French workwear plays an essential role in my work. This is where I draw my inspiration, mixing tradition and modernity to offer unique and timeless creations.

Respectful, authentic and in harmony with nature.
The items you will discover here are made from carefully selected Italian leathers, coming from environmentally friendly tanneries, members of the Genuine Vegetable Tanned Leather consortium.
Vegetable tanning, a method that involves immersing the skin in baths saturated with vegetable tannins from quebracho, mimosa or oak bark. This process takes approximately four to six months, much longer than chemical mineral tanning which only requires forty-eight hours. Although longer, vegetable tanning is a natural, non-toxic and responsible method.
Each piece is entirely handmade, guaranteeing their authenticity and uniqueness.
VEGETABLE TANNING
To maintain your leather, I recommend using leather balm
SMITH'S LEATHER BALM .
This balm helps preserve the quality of your leather items and gives them a beautiful patina over time.
Handcrafted by Shane & Mandy Smith in the state of Maine, this balm is composed of only three natural ingredients:
Organic cocoa butter.
Organic beeswax.
Pure sweet almond oil.

- Barbe de Bois décline toute responsabilité en cas de retard, perte ou dommage pendant l'acheminement.

Les produits Barbe de Bois sont confectionnés à partir de cuir italien fourni par le consortium du véritable cuir au tannage végétal. Avec le temps et l'usage du porteur, ces cuirs développent une magnifique patine, rendant chaque objet unique et personnalisé.
